It opens with a drum beat that sounds like the funkiest marching band. Mandy, Indiana arent from Indiana at all the post-rock quartet actually hail from Manchester, England, where founding members Scott Fair (guitar/production) and Valentine Caulfield (vocals/lyrics) met at a show their respective separate bands were playing. What we do know is the band will be releasing their debut EP … later this November, which collects the previous singles, remixes by Daniel Avery and Club Eat, and its newest cut, “Bottle Episode”. The band is no longer known as Gary, Indiana, and instead go by Mandy, Indiana, and while there’s a fourth human being pictured in their latest press photo, nobody knows who the fuck that person is or what they do. Late last year, we were introduced to the experimental industrial rave noise of Gary, Indiana, a band whose home base was nowhere near the midwest town they were named after, with its three members in vocalist Valentine Caulfield, guitarist and producer Scott Fair, and percussionist Liam Stewart unleashing a handful of promising singles in the gravity-manipulating “Nike of Samothrace” and the danceable electrodes of “Alien 3″ upon signing with Fire Talk.
